B.5.SD:4.2 - Select the construction and its capable performers
Ask what operations produce the required answer in this subject. An engineering comparison may need requirements, models of alternatives, consequence estimates and an applicability judgement. A source-supported argument may need interpretation of the original claim, its evidence and the receiving use. A causal question needs an appropriate causal method, not an attractive sequence of events.
Obtain the relevant method and people or agents capable of performing it. Name the missing professional contribution concretely: “Determine whether changing parameter P invalidates the earlier test,” rather than “bring expertise.” If no available method can produce the required answer, C.39 helps develop the missing construction or return the result that cannot yet be obtained. A meeting technique cannot fill that absence.
Arrange integration as actual work. Someone must connect the contributions into the answer the receiver needs. This may be a subject expert, a capable facilitator with the necessary subject knowledge, an AI system qualified for the task, or several participants whose contributions fit. The label “facilitator” neither guarantees nor rules out that competence.
Keep necessary roles distinct. A process facilitator can preserve questions, participation and agreement on how to proceed. A subject integrator constructs the reasoning. A decision maker accepts a course of action under the applicable authority. One performer can hold compatible responsibilities, but do not silently grant subject authority from control of the discussion.
When the discussion forms part of a decision-support inquiry, obtain the actual engagement conditions for participation, representation, consent, usable channels, confidentiality and faithful return. Establish whose concerns and contributions can be represented, what participants have accepted, which disclosures are permitted and where the result must return. A facilitation Method can itself supply adequate subject integration when the performer is capable. In other practices, obtain the required participation and authority conditions from their actual owners. A joint mathematical proof, for example, can require capable integration and protected participation without a decision-support engagement. The construction here remains the warranted connection between the claims and the receiving answer; it does not supply professional permission or replace protected participation.
