B.5.SD:4.7 - Use AI for substantive construction at its actual competence
A qualified AI can be the integrator rather than a minute-taker. Give it the actual receiving question, permitted sources, applicable methods and decision boundary. Require the same usable reasoning and scope that the task needs from any performer. An agent’s fluent synthesis can be examined through its grounds and the receiver’s use; fluency alone supports no technical claim.
If its demonstrated capability covers the subject inference and the effective arrangement permits autonomous action, it may construct and use the answer without a human repeating every step. If independence, access or a reserved decision remains necessary, obtain that specific contribution. Several agents derived from the same mistaken source do not automatically supply independent evidence.
Cheap computation can justify exploring more alternatives internally. It does not justify sending the receiver a larger unfiltered pile of suggestions. Compare the decision value and burden of presenting a result. Retain the answer that improves the receiving work, together with the limitation needed for its use.
