IS.2:10 - Architectural Rationale

The unit of diagnosis is a receiving episode because implementation difficulties arise at connections among an occasion, action, means and result. A label about an individual or organization can hide those connections.

The Method separates explanation from response selection. More than one explanation can support the same response, while one generic symptom can require very different actions. That distinction makes the work useful under uncertainty and limits unnecessary inquiry.
