LDR.5:2 - Problem

An initiator can mistake agreement with a concern for commitment to their preferred solution. Participants can use the same words while anticipating different results, or accept a task publicly while withholding knowledge that would challenge the plan. A group can also wait for a leader to supply an answer that must be constructed through its members’ different experience.

Merely explaining the proposed goal more clearly does not settle these difficulties. The purpose, participants’ roles in forming it and their grounds for acting may themselves need to change. Conversely, reopening an already adequate direction can delay useful action and erode reliance on valid commitments.
