RMP.Application:1.2 - Construct a comparison that can answer the mechanism question
The RMP.2 seal case begins with the supplied rival mechanisms and a familiar overall wear index. Two qualified references have the same index and different mechanisms. That concrete collision defeats the proposed inference from matching wear to matching mechanism. It does not make the wear test useless for its ordinary purpose.
Recovering the laboratory’s mechanism-sensitive operation gives the researcher a different possible result: a surface/chemical signature with a qualified interpretation. From the question, derive the needed comparison between accelerated and field-representative conditions, preserving material identity, assignment and the qualified damage range. Follow the operation on the reference records and explain what a compatible, discrepant or uninterpretable return would mean. Missing material correspondence or failed signature discrimination returns a precise prerequisite; it is not concealed as protocol detail. Only a worthwhile obtainable arrangement can become the selected design.
