How to use the language

Each pattern starts with a recognizable working situation, the useful result and an ordinary non-use boundary. Its Solution explains the action; its case makes a consequential choice or stop visible. Conformance and evidence guidance help test the particular result without turning recognition into proof.

Start with a known result when it is adequate for the same subject, configuration, horizon and receiving question. Follow a relation only when its missing contribution changes your answer. A source change that may affect several unknown receiving uses can call for A.10.1; one known strategic dependence can finish at STR.2. Use STR.13 when the practitioner’s search or comparison method itself needs improvement. Read the Preface for shared distinctions and architectural rationale; direct use does not require reading it first.

The framework offers strategic methods and teaching cases. Constructed examples are not evidence of field validation.
