STR-ENTRY-03 - Find what technological change could make worthwhile
- Situation: New technologies attract attention, but it is unclear which change could enable a useful contribution or alter a current strategic premise.
- Question: What became attainable under relevant conditions, what remains unknown, and what should that change in our work?
- First useful result or blocker: An explained possibility, a qualified implication for an existing choice, a worthwhile research question or a sufficient reason to continue unchanged.
- Start with: STR.17 when the technological investigation itself is missing; use an adequate assessment directly when it already answers the question.
- Stop or return: Return a possible contribution to STR.5 or an affected current choice to STR.12. Use STR.7 only when further inquiry earns its full burden.
STR.17’s constructed document case separates louder publicity with no detected gain on the relevant task from a quiet extraction improvement, unavailable connector evidence and a previously hidden evidence-storage dependence. These observations support different continuations. The extraction result can support developing a preparation-service direction, while the other gaps still prevent assuming the service is feasible. Revising the map reveals an older dependence; it does not establish a newly emerging technology.
The machining case changes the map and observation pace. A better insert improves tool use under one material condition, yet unresolved material provision and an unchanged inspection bottleneck leave the current outsourced arrangement preferable for the imminent choice. A technical gain can remain a useful conditional possibility without compelling commitment or another experiment.
