Engineering and open-ended development
Engineering is directed toward the construction, change and sustained functioning of systems. Open-ended development extends knowledge and available ways of working, uses the results and proceeds to further, more demanding attainable problems. It can change engineering Methods and capabilities, and it can require engineering for its realization. It does not make every engineering project or every acquisition of an existing Method an open-ended development undertaking.
Use FPF Core for the general Methods of opportunity construction, methodological development and continued development. Use the appropriate DPF for a particular learning, organizational, research, strategic or other subject-specific contribution. An office, shared service, external provider, assisting agent or direct responsibility at each workplace is a possible realization; the required Methods and their conditions determine which arrangement is justified.
