What makes this one engineering whole?

Engineering knowledge constrains what can be realized. Realization, qualification and later use in turn test that knowledge and can require changes to the design or the Methods used to obtain it.

Consider a laboratory introducing an automated measurement service. Systems Engineering connects the instrument, software, operator and receiving experiment. Semantic Integration Engineering makes units, sample identities and reported results agree across the interfaces. Organization Change Engineering establishes who may accept a sample, stop unsafe work or release a result. Human Capability Development supplies the operator’s missing ability; Somatic Movement Modeling is relevant only if a bodily distinction or coordination actually limits performance. Knowledge-Corpus Access Engineering makes the applicable procedures and source evidence usable. Maintenance determines how condition, intervention and return to service preserve the required measurement capability.

The dependencies run both ways. A maintainability constraint can change the system architecture; an operator’s attainable performance can change automation; a semantic mismatch can change the instrument interface; a failed use can reopen the required capability or procedure. The whole can obtain a functioning capability under connected conditions that no isolated contribution establishes.

Its continuity lies in that concern with realizable and sustained system effects and the knowledge-practice relations that support them. Particular instruments, theories, organizations and Methods can change. A replacement contribution belongs in the assembly only if its affected connections still work. Other engineering branches can extend this edition when their subject-specific knowledge and Methods are developed; a file added for convenience does not establish that relation.

OCE connects knowledge of specialization, information, decisions and participation to the construction and qualification of organizational relations. MNT connects knowledge of failure and task effects to policies, feasible intervention and restored functioning. These are continuing engineering contributions: their knowledge constrains system construction and use, while consequences can revise that knowledge and its Methods. OCE is directly included in the specialized Management assembly; MNT is directly included here. Their contributions remain available when a particular project needs neither organizational change nor maintenance work.

The general concepts and construction rules are supplied by FPF Core, including discipline composition, system and Method composition, architecture and qualification. The DPFs retain the specialized constructions and evidence that those general rules do not supply.
