The listener completes the story too soon. Return to the participant’s account and ask which part of the offered explanation fits or fails.

Novel wording is treated as discovery by itself. Show the new distinction and its consequence. An existing concept may already explain it.

An apparent contradiction is tidied away. Recover the situation before deciding whether the words refer to different conditions or the account is inconsistent.

Every concern is turned into an introspection exercise. Use an already adequate description directly. This method addresses an expression difficulty, not every unanswered question.
