C.29:13.1 - Structural-sameness recognition examples
Sandberg’s examples, available in the Math section of Links for 2026-05-12, suggest several discovery cues used in :4.2b: Stokes and boundary/exterior-derivative relations; de Rham and cohomological obstruction; a CLT fixed-point view; Lawvere-style diagonal constructions; Noether’s symmetry/conservation relation; and Legendre, potential-duality and tropical-limit viewpoints. Use the example to find a candidate, then return to the chosen mathematical result and its assumptions before relying on it.
In the CLT-as-RG or fixed-point viewpoint, the Gaussian is an attractive fixed point for finite-variance distributions under the usual normalization; other stable laws are other fixed points under suitable normalization.
