CB.12:4.1 - Agree what is worth repeating
Begin with the participant’s receiving need and a concrete action. “Visit the community more” gives no reason to prefer one visit to another. “When a peer’s answer has been tried, return the result so that the advice can be corrected” names useful work and a relevant occasion.
Establish what would make one episode complete. The result may be an applicable answer found, a permitted question sent, a contribution returned to its recipient or a bounded period of valued shared activity. It need not be a public post.
Ask whether repetition is appropriate. A daily work handover and an occasional unusual case have different opportunities. The frequency of a platform notification is not the frequency of the person’s need. If an address or bookmark is enough for a rare event, preserve that simpler arrangement.
Agree what support the person wants, the burden they can accept and when the arrangement should be reconsidered. Distinguish their voluntary participation from a duty already accepted through employment, membership or another agreement. Explain such a duty through its actual basis; adding a community reminder does not create or remove it.
For a shared activity, obtain the other participants’ contributions too. One person’s intention to seek help does not guarantee that a qualified respondent will be available. CB.5 supplies the contribution and return arrangement.
