CB.8:4.2 - Provide a workable receiving and decision route
Identify who receives a concern, what that person can do immediately and who may make a consequential decision. State how someone can report a problem privately and how urgent problems are routed while the usual receiver is absent. Give a realistic response window.
Test access from the position of a person who has been excluded, has left the venue or does not use the main platform. A route outside the restricted space can be essential. State who sees a report and the practical limits of confidentiality before inviting sensitive details.
Choose people able to understand the context and make the relevant judgement. Provide preparation, time, backup and permission to step away through CB.7. A person receiving hostility should be able to transfer the case.
Provide a way to disclose and handle a consequential conflict of interest. The challenged moderator, their close collaborator or an opposing party in the dispute may have useful evidence while being unsuitable to decide the case. Identify a replacement or an agreed external route under CB.13.
Keep the process small enough to operate. A small group may need two named contacts and an agreed alternate. A large or high-consequence setting may require trained staff and a more formal arrangement. If no adequate route exists for the claimed level of protection or review, change that promise and obtain the missing provision before relying on it.
