DOCA.8:8 - Common Anti-Patterns and How to Avoid Them
| Anti-pattern | Why it fails | Repair |
| New version means redo everything | Identity or formatting substitutes for changed meaning. | Compare the relevant claim and take the cheap stop when its use is unchanged. |
| The world stayed the same, so the correction is irrelevant | A changed claim can remove warranted support for the same world. | Requalify the receiving assertion that used it. |
| Follow every link | Citation and adjacency substitute for actual dependence. | Use the direct receiving claim and bounded discovery coverage. |
| Not found means unaffected | Inaccessible or unsearched receivers disappear from the conclusion. | Preserve the coverage gap and localize the result. |
| Narrow the label, keep the old estimate | A whole-use result is silently transferred to a different case mix or configuration. | Obtain the narrowed candidate’s own qualified comparison. |
| Correct the advice by rewriting its history | The earlier return can no longer be recovered. | Preserve it and identify the later correction and current reliance limit. |
| No new observation means no change | Failed observation is treated as a favourable result. | Return the missing evidence and its effect on current reliance. |
| Updated advice changes the operation | Recommendation is mistaken for an authorized decision or control rule. | Return the question to the actual choice or protection owner. |
