DOCA.Preface:3 - Qualify the combination as well as its ingredients

Joining results requires three judgements: each result is adequately qualified; it fits the receiving subject, configuration, use and horizon; and the proposed combination meets its shared conditions. A sound result for another data class or support arrangement may fail the second judgement. Individually feasible directions can fail the third.

For the combined use, establish the receiving contribution, compatible premises, jointly available resources and permissions, protected conditions and the remaining uncertainty. Identify the next responsible receiver for a missing result. Reuse the detailed qualifications already supplied by the patterns and direct practices; a new combined demand, audience, configuration or horizon needs its own answer. Recognition means that a reader can recover this account. Assurance requires the actual measurements, domain evidence, competence, permissions and other qualified results on which it relies.

In DOCA.5’s constructed eight-week case, directions A and B each require the same specialist for two hours every week; only two hours are available after existing obligations. Each direction fits alone. Together they need four hours and fail the joint condition under the no-overtime and urgent-cover protections. Doing A and then B takes sixteen weeks, outside the eight-week horizon. Shared support would be another configuration whose combined demand needs qualification. Preserve the individual directions and the exact joint limit. A combined-work estimate, alternative-support result, or revised-horizon result becomes a request only when its obtainable contribution warrants acquisition.

All pairs can fit while the whole set does not. In a separate arithmetic illustration, three non-shareable seven-hour activities each draw on one eighteen-hour budget. Every pair needs fourteen hours; all three need twenty-one. The deficit rules out that combination under those premises. It does not choose an optimal subset. APP-DOCA-02’s six-plus-six versus eight-hour case shows another shared-capacity conflict in an organization inquiry.

Constituent actions in ongoing work. During programme advising, estimating a participant’s available practice time can be part of comparing the feasibility of directions, which is itself part of constructing advice for that participant. If the intended programme requires coordinated practice with a partner, solitary free time is no longer the same usable resource. Arithmetic skill and knowledge of the desired profession can coexist with a missing ability to construct a feasible practice arrangement. Recover that intermediate contribution and its support before recommending the programme. B.1.5.EW supplies the general vertical question; the domain and HCD supply the requisite Methods and capability account. A feasible single step does not establish the feasibility of the advised combination.
