Naming settlement
This local naming settlement concerns this six-pattern Domain Principle Framework and its three use profiles. Its subject rule is FPF E.4.DPF; its naming methods are F.18 and F.17.
NameCard EXD-NAME-01. The governed value is the Explanation Design DPF specified by this edition’s Preface, six EXD Methods and Use profiles. Its kind is Domain Principle Framework as constrained by E.4.DPF. Its Tech designation is Explanation Design Principles Framework; its Plain designation is Explanation Design. EXD is the local pattern-address prefix.
The effective local reference scheme fixes the governed practice as constructing and adapting explanations for a recipient’s use. It distinguishes subject, question, purpose, warranted account, expression, recipient, contribution and use conditions; supplying subject Methods and their outcomes remain external. The local sense of “Explanation Design” is this DPF for that practice, including performed interaction. The expression does not name every theory of explanation or a new FPF kind.
“Explanation Practice” was considered because it includes performance, but underexpresses the constructive repertoire. “Explanation and Understanding” was considered because it names both sides of the relation, but suggests broader coverage than this governed practice. The selected name is made precise by the opening scope and the direct dialogue entry. Existing FPF and supplying-DPF designations suffice for their own values; no parallel name family is introduced. This is an initial naming settlement, with no predecessor rename or cross-framework equivalence asserted.
Reopen the name when its actual use systematically hides performed interaction, when the governed practice changes, or when an actual naming collision prevents unambiguous citation. A new source citation alone does not change this value’s identity.
