F.1:5.8 - A changed edition with a known source

An engineer already has the needed fictional WS-4 procedure, edition 2, clause 7. An edition-3 notice names a changed inspection exception. The question remains whether the same inspection condition applies. The engineer opens edition 3 at that clause and reads the exception with its surrounding applicability conditions.

If the relied condition is unchanged, the passage remains usable for its earlier contribution, with the updated edition address. If the exception changed, the engineer returns the changed passage and the earlier passage when the comparison needs it, then reopens the affected subject judgement or source-cut claim. No unchanged chapter needs a new search merely because the cover changed.

Now change the question to whether a particular attachment can be accepted. The retrieved clause does not settle an unknown material or operating condition. The subject engineer receives the passage and that missing premise. A found rule and a justified source cut supply different contributions from engineering applicability.
