FPF.Preface:16.5.5.3 - Change the input and retain the applicable reasoning

Suppose a later applicable measurement keeps the same central readings but bounds gauge error by 2 kPa and atmospheric error by 1 kPa. The new absolute interval is [292, 298] kPa. Its upper endpoint is below 300 kPa, so the stipulated information now supports the pressure-limit comparison for this regime at the later measurement occasion. Actual release can still require other conditions that this assessment never claimed to decide.

The assessment still concerns P17 under the stated regime. Its unit, pressure reference and applicability rule remain, while the later measurement changes the input, derived interval and threshold conclusion. The engineer reuses the conversion relation and comparison rule and updates the affected claims. C.2.1 distinguishes the assessment’s claim content and reference scheme from the pump those claims concern. To ground the assessment in an installation, the records must refer to applicable measurements of P17, and the calculation must warrant its claims from those measurements. The stipulated inputs here illustrate the inference without establishing that measurement relation or installation-side grounding. The assessment informs the release decision; its other conditions and authority remain separate.
