IS.2:4.6 - Reconsider the target when support is the wrong repair

A support investigation can reveal that the target is no longer appropriate, that a new possible result is more valuable, or that a needed Method does not exist. Preserve that discovery. Do not make the support service’s original scope a reason to retain an unsuitable target.

Return the changed target question to its decision owner with the evidence, useful existing results and receiving consequence. C.39 and the subject practice can construct or qualify a way. C.40.OD can help compare development directions; B.5.PI/C.40.CD can help form a question when the initial interpretation fails. Implementation support can continue independent useful work while the dependent branch remains open or stopped.

The completed result states the supported response, what it made possible, what remains uncertain and which next action is available. A precise stop is a useful return when no permissible contribution can meet the current promise.
