Library.Reference:9.3.9 - Variation that changes the continuation
| Observed difficulty | First distinction to resolve | Consequential continuation |
|---|---|---|
| A skilled participant cannot perform | Capability versus available time, input, tool or authority | Repair the missing condition; use learning only for an actual capability gap |
| A willing learner does not practise | Intention versus feasible participation and a useful attempt | Change the practice arrangement or commitment, then examine the attempt |
| Classroom performance does not transfer | Recognition and adaptation versus workplace constraints | Vary relevant contexts and feedback, or change the work conditions, according to the cause |
| A team succeeds while one member remains dependent | Joint output versus the member’s required capability | Preserve justified joint work; add development only if later use requires that capability |
| An AI cites the canon but omits the operation | Source access versus interpretation, selection and execution | Inspect the decisive trace and repair the implicated procedure, tool or capability |
| An AI loses the whole task after interruption | A usable record versus actual recovery and resumed action | Apply A.15.10 to the actual assignment and effects; then test the required continuation |
| Participants use identical words differently | Vocabulary versus shared referent and intended action | Work through a discriminating case and repair the consequential interpretation |
| A participant objects to an instruction | False premise, infeasibility, disputed authority or opportunism | Obtain the corresponding factual repair, feasible undertaking or accountable decision |
| A sponsor asks a helper to certify success | Assistance versus an assurance claim and its independence | Establish the qualified judge and evidence; preserve conflicts and unresolved claims |
| New participants cannot use a successful practice | Available carrier versus explanation, capability and access | Reconstruct the missing contribution and qualify its use by the new recipients |
| The canon is faithfully followed but unsuitable | Execution fidelity versus validity and present fit | Revise or replace the affected Method or conditions through its subject owner |
| Everyone needs the same scarce helper | Local difficulty versus common provision and total demand | Compare shared provision, distributed capability, external help and revised scope |
This table is an entry into explanation, not a substitute for diagnosis. Several rows can apply together. Use the smallest sufficient return and retain the unaffected contributions. In particular, a technical intervention can change a team’s capability without changing a human’s skill, and a human learning success can leave a cultural transmission problem unresolved.
