MDPE.18:0.1 - Working Distinctions

NameMeaning here
source objectA recording, video, score, notation, interview, programme, review, photograph, event log, dataset, software artifact, instrument, costume, or other identified object used to support a claim. Keep its actual kind.
work recordA source about a Work occurrence. It is not the Work, Method, or capability it describes.
cultural-memory evidenceEvidence that material, descriptions, capabilities, Methods, carriers, or relations from earlier practice can be retrieved or used for the current decision. Artifact survival is only one possible contribution.
lineage claimA supported claim about derivation, borrowing, mixture, convergence, branching, naming, teaching, influence, revival, or succession among identified variants, Methods, artifacts, Work occurrences, Agents, or populations.
living continuationRepeated enactment and reproduction by a bounded population under stated conditions and period. It is tested by MDPE.19, not inferred from archive presence.
source-to-claim rowOne source object, the part used, the supported claim, its limit, and the decision use. Several sources can support or challenge one claim.

Cultural memory, lineage, origin, founder, repertoire, style, and tradition are useful ordinary expressions, not automatic root kinds. When a decision depends on them, say whether the subject is material, Method, MethodDescription, Work, capability, performance, event, artifact, population, or cultural relation.

A score, onset list, geometric rhythm representation, video, or motion trace is an episteme or artifact about a world-side musical or movement subject. It does not replace the rhythm, movement, performance Work, or performer–environment relations it represents.
