MDPE.23:2.4 - Develop capability through varied but relevant tasks

Choose the direct domain Method from the failure. Examples include:

  • contrastive listening with matched distractors;
  • singing, clapping, stepping, movement, or partner response tied to the same rhythmic relation;
  • changing tempo, instrument, performer, view, orientation, body, partner, or venue while preserving the target difference;
  • moving between notation, syllables, sound, movement, force, and geometry only when the correspondence is taught;
  • fading labels, teacher demonstrations, fixed order, or costume cues;
  • interleaving neighbouring styles or variants when discrimination is the goal; and
  • training machine recognizers on varied carriers and performers while protecting a held-out transfer set.

Variation is not valuable by sheer quantity. Vary contexts expected in later Work or needed to distinguish rival explanations. Preserve protected conditions such as safety, consent, fatigue bounds, accessibility, and cultural source integrity.
