MDPE.23:4.1 - Balboa weight arrival and brush articulation

A teacher wants dancers to distinguish audible brush onset, weight arrival, perceived beat centre, and partner-readable pressure. These events can be related but are not identical. The capability holder can be a dancer performing a solo discrimination task or a partner sensing the relation through contact.

Use sound, video, contact or force indications, partner reports, and direct Balboa teaching. Fade verbal labels, vary music and partner, and test unfamiliar articulations. Success means the dancer or partner can make the stated discrimination under the intended conditions; it does not prove whole-style recognition or performance mastery.
