MDPE.23:4.3 - One rhythm through several representations
A learner meets the same rhythmic structure through audible material, conventional notation, onset intervals, dum–tak syllables, takadimi or konnakol-like position syllables, movement, and geometry. These representations make different operations easy and can also provide accidental cues.
Teach the correspondences needed by the intended Work, then test the rhythm through an unseen carrier and another representation. A correct label beside familiar notation is not transfer. Nor does a geometric proximity score show that a musician, dancer, or partner recognizes the relation in performance.
