MDPE.Application:5.1.3.7 - 7. Renew the criteria as well as the selected repertoire

Keep a route by which a useful variant can challenge the current criteria. Obtain an example, state which intended use it supports and which existing condition it violates, and compare three possibilities:

  • the variant fails a still-necessary condition;
  • the condition described the predecessor too narrowly and should change;
  • the variant serves a different valuable use and should remain a separate branch.

Try the consequential receiving use when the available basis does not decide among them and such a trial is worth its cost. Include people who can observe the contested contribution. A distant spectator, a partner and a teacher may have access to different evidence. Combining their observations needs a stated rule; adding their scores does not supply one.

Preserve the historical account when the present canon changes. A formerly excluded variant can become common without making the earlier repertoire worthless or erasing its contributors. State where a new rule applies; adoption by one event does not settle the whole field.

Finish when the supported arrangement or bounded decision supplies the current use. Reopen it when a receiving failure, changed resource, new participant group or useful excluded variant defeats a relied-on condition. The continuing possibility of renewal does not require perpetual assessment of a satisfactory evening.
