ME.17:8 - Common Anti-Patterns and How to Avoid Them

Anti-patternRepair
“The standard has stable editions, so the culture retains it.”State the supported institutional value, participants, predicate, and interval. Withhold unsupported practitioner retention; investigate it only when a receiving use needs a worthwhile attainable inquiry.
“Five novices used the cards, so the field adopted them.”Keep the candidate/observed-practice branch, bounded claims, and local Work; leave wider recognition, selection, and retention open.
“The practice became mandatory, so everyone enacted a Method.”Separate rule epistemes, organizational selection claims, training Work, individual Work and non-use, Method admission, and enactment.
“The project designers may change practitioner choices.”Name the assignment, permission, or authority predicate and the project subjects it permits them to change.
“The later result proves our carrier change worked.”Keep credible rival explanations and the claim’s evidence limit. Select a discriminating inquiry only for a use that warrants it; use C.28 when a causal statement will be relied on.
“Every continuation needs another experiment.”Finish the supported bounded account or decision. Select a new observation or change for its feasible receiving contribution, not to fill a result field.
“The security assessment is mandatory, so its burden is justified.”Appraise the requirement’s protective contribution and displaced risks separately from its present force. Revise it only through the actual authority or agreement.
“These cases show one adoption path.”Keep every population, predicate, interval, intervention, and consequence separate.
