OCE.12:4.1 - Locate the contribution that is missing

Name the difficulty in the work that needs help. Examples include an unclear purpose, an unvoiced concern, confusion on entering a role, loss of attention to its expected result, a need to hand over or leave a role safely, incompatible contributions, and unavailable help or learning time.

State the expected contribution, where it is needed and what shows the difficulty. Ask the affected participants what help would change their next action. If someone lacks access to a needed resource, obtain that access; if a technical decision is pending, take it to the responsible decision maker.

Use OCE.10 when the cause of a participation gap is uncertain. Enter OCE.12 directly when the needed leadership work is clear.
