OCE.Preface:8 - Applying the language in different settings
The shared questions about contribution, actual work, relations, realization and consequences stay available as the setting narrows. The existing applications show which assumptions must change:
| Setting | What changes in the use | First result that remains useful at the boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering organization with AI and provider support | Same-result comparison must include the actual support, evidence, provider-access and recovery configuration. Safety acceptance and release authority can remain separately held. | PumpWorks first returns an arrangement recommendation with a precise reroute. Only the later episode’s additional authority, access and professional conditions permit its bounded probe. |
| Public hospital with uninterrupted clinical service | Clinical competence, licensure, patient protection, privacy, staffing and case mix qualify the organization-change work. Product-team assumptions need their own justification. | A contribution or arrangement comparison can expose the professional result still missing. Observations about admitted cases do not answer for diverted or unobserved patients. |
| Member-governed standards association | Bylaws, independent employers, voluntary work windows and expiring officeholder authority replace assumptions of one executive and freely allocable staff. | A qualified editorial arrangement or revision proposal remains useful while a binding decision waits for its actual authority. |
These applications use shared Methods with changed conditions; they do not establish transfer of a clinical, engineering or governance result between the settings. The practitioner-population application changes the subject again: it concerns OCE continuation across practitioners, including observations outside one organization’s control. It needs evidence about their actual cases and opportunities, rather than treating the population as one organization or capability holder.
