A useful answerThe receiver needs a conclusion, while the strongest requested claim may exceed what the material supports.
Method fitFamiliar analytical tools are accessible, while unlike questions require different forms of criticism.
Discovery and commitmentLooking at material can reveal a better question, while later choices must not be reported as prospective commitments.
ReuseExisting analysis can answer the question, while a changed input, assumption or use may invalidate part of it.
Contrary materialA coherent account is easier to communicate, while discordant cases and plausible rivals can change its scope.
InspectabilityAnother critic needs the consequential reasoning, while indiscriminate recording can obscure it or expose protected material.
CompletionA qualified or unresolved answer can finish the present use, while an obtainable discriminating examination may still be worthwhile.
