RMP.Preface:7 - Use the two contributions together

RMP.1/RMP.2 supply two related Methods for a bounded pre-study use. RMP.1 qualifies why an inquiry is needed and what answer would be enough. RMP.2 decides whether current evidence already suffices, which design can answer the qualified question, or which missing result prevents that choice. Their combination is useful when a request arrives before either question has been settled. A current allocation can also finish with insufficient evidence and no new study when no worthwhile obtainable acquisition is selected. Direct use of either contribution remains possible under its stated inputs.

For an ambiguous request, begin with the RMP.1 qualification procedure. Its source, ordinary-practice, and missing-input returns can close the current request without design work. Only a passing ResearchQuestionBrief carries the intended episteme change, criticism demand, and useful stop into RMP.2. A colleague’s compatible brief can supply the same input; repeating RMP.1 merely to record passage adds no result.

With that input, use the RMP.2 design comparison. Keep the receiving question fixed while alternatives change the evidence relation. The useful contrast might be between a mechanism experiment and field transfer evidence, between historical source criticism and corpus synthesis, or between new evidence and a sufficient current answer. The selected design must explain what error it can expose and which threats it leaves live. The four disposition branches then give the reader a usable conclusion.

The source-answer and design-allocation questions remain distinct. RMP.1 can finish with an available answer before unused membership prompts. RMP.2 compares qualified evidence with the brief’s answer condition without repeating adequate source work. Permission to finish with uncertainty does not satisfy that evidence condition. EvidenceSufficientStop means the answer is adequate for that use; QualifiedNoNewStudy means no new study is selected while the remaining evidence limit stays visible.

If design comparison changes the question, receiving use, or useful stop, return that change to RMP.1. If it changes only an instrument, access, or other selection premise, reopen the affected RMP.2 comparison. A usable question can survive an infeasible preferred design. A supplied-answer stop or hold can likewise be the complete result of the present use. The Part that groups these bodies helps reading; it adds no third Method and requires no chronological research lifecycle.
