Research Method Practice Principles Framework

A research repertoire for qualifying a question, choosing and conducting a defensible inquiry, examining and returning its knowledge contribution, and retaining or improving the Methods that serve it.

  • Author: Anatoly Levenchuk, with AI-assisted development and review
  • Version: 3 October 2026
  • Status: Eternal alpha: a working framework open to correction as methods, sources and uses change. This first edition supplies the complete RMP.1–RMP.9 repertoire, with direct entries, useful stops and research-specific Method improvement.
  • License: CC BY 4.0 for original framework content; third-party material retains its own terms.
  • Publication: FPF repository

Begin with the research difficulty that is blocking useful work: an ambiguous request, a sufficient source answer, an unsettled design, a consequential operational choice, actual material whose use cannot be reconstructed, a claim whose support is unclear, a credibility threat whose useful examination is undecided, a contested corpus, a knowledge account whose revision and return need care, or a research Method whose adequacy or improvement is in question. Use the Table of Contents to find a pattern by question or PatternID, and the Readme for selected practical examples. The Preface explains how the nine contributions connect and where direct entry or a return is useful. The connected applications show the resulting choices.
