Table of Contents

Use this Table of Contents to find a pattern from your actual question or a known PatternID. The Readme offers selected practical examples. Pattern bodies contain the authoritative Methods, cases, evidence limits, and stops.

RMP.* is this framework’s PatternID namespace. Numbers are stable addresses. This first edition contains RMP.1–RMP.9 in five reading Parts; supplied inputs and existing records allow direct entry, and reader order does not prescribe Work order.

Research Method Practice Principles Framework ReadmeFollow research contributions from a question through a supported answer, correction or decision to stop.
PrefaceUnderstand the nine Methods, their direct entries and shared conditions, serious alternatives, and the repertoire’s scope.
Cross-Pattern ApplicationFollow seal, stream, historical and Method-correction cases through their needed research contributions and actual receiving consequences.
Framework Boundary and RefreshJudge the combined result, inspect biases and limits, recover source contributions and public owner returns, check availability, and cite this version.

Part I - Qualify the Question and Choose a Design or Stop

§ID & TitleStatusKeywords & Search QueriesDependencies
1RMP.1 — Decide Whether a Question Needs Research and When to StopDoes this request need research, and what exact question, supplied answer, owner return, or source hold is warranted?receiving question and available sources; F.1, F.0.1 and A.10 for source use; E.8 for SoTA comparison; applicable domain contributions
2RMP.2 — Choose a Criticism-Bearing Research Design or StopIs evidence sufficient, is a useful obtainable design justified, is selection held, or is a qualified no-new-study answer warranted?RMP.1 ResearchQuestionBrief or compatible direct input; qualified current frame; exact domain, measurement, access, ethics, safety and authority results

Part II - Operationalization and Research Trace

§ID & TitleStatusKeywords & Search QueriesDependencies
3RMP.3 - Operationalize the Research Design without Replacing the QuestionDevelopment previewWhich operational choices preserve the selected research question and criticism, and which missing or defeated premise requires a return?compatible RMP.1/RMP.2 or supplied brief/design; qualified domain and practical-owner results; RMP.4 for actual trace
4RMP.4 - Preserve a Criticism-Ready Research TraceDevelopment previewWhat can the actual research material support, and where do reconstruction, transformation, loss or restricted access prevent a named examination?ongoing or inherited inquiry and receiving examination; surviving plans/records; RMP.1/RMP.2 returns and RMP.3 intentions when supplied; FPF A.10 and C.16

Part III - Analyze Claims and Choose Credibility Work

§ID & TitleStatusKeywords & Search QueriesDependencies
5RMP.5 - Analyze and Criticize the Research Claim under Its MethodWhat bounded claim does the actual material support under its Method, and which criticism changes that answer?supplied material, analysis, claim and receiving use; RMP.3 intentions and RMP.4 actual trace when relevant; exact RMP.1/RMP.2 returns; conditional RMP.6
6RMP.6 - Choose a Credibility Test That Bears on the Research Claim, or Answer without New TestingWhich existing result, useful obtainable test, qualified no-test answer or exact selection hold bears on this claim and threat?bounded claim, basis, use and threat from RMP.5 or direct input; qualified Methods, criteria and practical owners; conditional RMP.2/RMP.3/RMP.4

Part IV - Synthesize Evidence and Revise the Exact Contribution

§ID & TitleStatusKeywords & Search QueriesDependencies
7RMP.7 - Synthesize a Research Evidence CorpusWhat does this evidence corpus establish, and which dependence, incompatible target or missing contribution limits the synthesis?compatible supplied question, synthesis design, operations and actual trace; conditional RMP.1-RMP.6 returns; RMP.8 when wider revision or receiving reliance needs it
8RMP.8 - Use Research Results to Retain or Revise an Episteme’s Claims and Return Bounded EvidenceStableWhich exact claim or model contribution should be retained or changed, and what bounded evidence does its actual recipient need?actual analysis, criticism or synthesis from RMP.5-RMP.7 or direct input; FPF episteme and affected-use relations; receiving criteria and authority

Part V - Improve and Refresh Research Methods and Practice

§ID & TitleStatusKeywords & Search QueriesDependencies
9RMP.9 — Decide Whether and How to Improve Research Methods and PracticeWhat Method or practice should be retained or corrected, and is further comparison worth its whole obtainable burden?actual Method difficulty or changed research use; relevant Method Engineering and field criteria; qualified existing evidence; only affected RMP.1-RMP.8 returns
