Make research executable and inspect its course
| Your question | Open | What you can obtain |
|---|---|---|
| How will the selected design become particular observations, source work or computations? | RMP.3 - Operationalize the Research Design without Replacing the Question | A usable protocol with the research reasons for its consequential choices, or the exact unsupported operation and its missing input. Reuse a qualified protocol when it fits. Return a defeated design premise to RMP.2 and a changed question to RMP.1; retain the supported part. |
| How do we preserve or recover the records needed to examine this inquiry? | RMP.4 - Preserve a Criticism-Ready Research Trace | An inspectable account connecting actual conduct to its material, or an exact limitation caused by loss, reconstruction or restricted access. Enter during ongoing work or directly with inherited records. Use adequate existing records without creating another protocol. Stop with the supported examination or its precise limitation. |
Operationalization specifies intended work; the trace accounts for actual work and retained material. They can develop together. A trace can identify a lost comparison without making that comparison available.
