The result sought and the work that must continue

A service provider wants to discover whether a new integration can make a useful customer offer. Its current service must continue, and the proposed search needs time from the same operating specialists. A successful demonstration would leave two questions open: whether a customer can use the result, and whether an ordinary receiving team can supply it without the search team’s exceptional help.

For this constructed case, the responsible owner wants a decision in two weeks: continue a bounded integration proposal, revise it or stop. The search must return a qualified technical finding about the integration, a qualified answer about the selected customer use, and the obligations of a possible next trial. It does not promise a production service in that period. The operating owner specifies which current service obligations must be protected. The commercial, technical and operating results remain distinguishable.

STR.5 helps determine which useful contribution is worth pursuing; STR.8 connects it to the means, dependencies and contribution needed to sustain it. SYSE.2 and SYSE.8 construct the use and offering/provider questions. MKT.12 investigates the commercial decision; MKT.13 preserves the boundary between a supported attempt and ordinary repeatability. If an adequate answer already exists, use it and stop the unnecessary search.
