A.15.10:5.3 - An ordinary pause needs no checkpoint

A designer stops to answer a short question. The drawing remains open at the unresolved joint, the two alternatives and their load condition are visible, and the designer can still explain the pending comparison. They continue the comparison directly.

If the drawing is later transferred to a colleague, the same visible marks may be insufficient: the colleague may not know which load condition governs the comparison. A short annotation at that point can supply the missing contribution. The useful support depends on the receiver and the work, not on a universal note format.

These are constructed illustrations. They demonstrate the operations and their different branches; they are not evidence of general productivity gains.
