A.15.11:4.1 - Choose the work and the possible contribution
Start from work someone actually does. State what could improve: a choice, a result, the range of situations the performer can handle, or the effort required. Identify who can arrange the opportunity and who would encounter it. The same person can prepare a cue for their own future work.
Identify the larger method being performed through the selected action and the constituent methods that make that action possible. These methods can be performed together in the same action. Use B.1.5.EW when this connection is unclear. Judge a proposed improvement under the conditions of that encompassing work, including any missing capabilities or resources on which it depends.
When no question has yet been raised, B.5.PI uses an ordinary work occasion to compare a result with its use and develop a question or retain an early cue. Arrange that opportunity without presupposing a particular error.
When the useful contribution is uncertain, examine a small, permitted sample of the work with a relevant practitioner or source. Ask what an available alternative could make possible. C.40 and C.40.CD supply constructive inquiry where the question or method itself needs development. Do not install a standing prompt merely because a topic sounds relevant.
