B.1.5.EW:4.3 - Follow constituent and encompassing work
Continue through the constituent–whole connections in the selected Method or Work structure only while the next encompassing whole’s conditions change the action, its learning or its use. Explain each intervening connection. If an action serves two wholes, keep both uses and their different conditions visible.
Then ask what you must be able to do, or obtain from another participant, to perform the selected action. If a described construction remains unclear, use B.5.RC to recover its inputs, operations, conditions and a small execution. If you lack the domain know-how, obtain an explanation or demonstration. If you understand the operation but cannot perform it in the combination, practise with the encompassing conditions, obtain support or use another qualified contributor. Stop a branch at an understood operation or an available contribution sufficient for this use.
These moves need not end in one tree. Nor does following several connections establish an unrestricted transitive parthood rule. Carry the actual conditions through the intervening wholes. A move from an action to its enabling tool, or from a Method to a more general Method, changes the relation; describe it accordingly.
