C.40.CU:4.2 - Construct a worthwhile receiving use
Describe a result the response could help obtain, the receiver, use and conditions of acceptability. Start from the effect rather than the construct’s customary name or intended function. A weight can supply resistance, a surface can support alignment, and a response to a task can reveal something about the environment.
Try the connection between the available response and the needed intermediate result. If a gap appears, ask whether to change the problem, the construct, the method, the performer or the supporting conditions. C.40.CD develops that reciprocal change; C.39.RO makes a successful construction reusable.
Keep an exploratory question separate from an accepted application. A promising operation can justify a bounded further inquiry before anyone presently needs its result. Explain what the next attempt could make possible and what effort it displaces. C.11.DUA helps when the value of further inquiry is unsettled.
Use the receiving conditions to decide how much to establish. A fixed-route delivery use may need reliable delivery from a known configuration, not proof that the controller invented its route. A claim of adaptation to unfamiliar routes asks more. Preserve the narrower use while the stronger claim remains unresolved.
