CB.11:2 - Problem
People often identify a community with its current host, founder or meeting format. That makes loss of one component look like the end of everything, or lets a claim that “the relationships will continue” hide the loss of access, support and practical opportunity.
Continuing can also be the wrong response. The original task may be complete, organisers may be depleted, or a single arrangement may no longer serve different groups. Holding everyone together can consume resources and prevent useful work elsewhere. Conversely, ending too quickly can lose an explanation, a capable contributor or an opportunity that people still need.
How can participants choose and carry out a continuation or ending that preserves worthwhile possibilities without carrying unsupported promises into the future?
