CB.11:4.4 - Obtain the decision and prepare its practical consequences
Take each required decision through its actual authority. Obtain the resource owner’s access decision, the successor’s agreement and the community decision where one is required. Keep objections and accepted losses visible through CB.13. A departing volunteer may state the end of their own contribution while others decide how to replace it.
Translate the chosen alternative into what affected people need to do. Name the ending and starting dates, the remaining activities, how to reach the new receiver, which promises cease and where unfinished matters will go. Explain a change before users continue relying on the old offer.
Agree the handover work and its limit with both the departing and receiving contributors. Include the time needed to explain an unusual case, obtain access and practise a consequential operation. CB.7 and C.36.RP help obtain capability where it is missing; a title or a folder transfer cannot supply it.
Recover rights and permissions for the material that will move. Public instructions, contributed examples, private discussions and contact details can have different permitted uses. Obtain the relevant permission or leave the restricted material with an appropriate existing receiver. A useful summary can sometimes carry a lesson without carrying the personal account.
If a common resource remains after separation, agree its access, upkeep, decision and dispute arrangements through ECO.7 and the applicable mandate. If those terms cannot be made workable, choose a different resource or narrow what the groups share.
