CB.16:4.7 - Reconsider the position and its continuing mandate

Reopen the affected position when the external proposal changes, new evidence defeats a reason, a previously missed constituency matters, the required provision is absent or the mandate expires. Recover which part of the earlier contribution remains useful.

For continuing representation, agree how the community will keep the representative informed, obtain returns and replace them. The burden may justify a standing arrangement through CB.13; occasional external requests may need only bounded assignments.

Preserve independence among the represented groups. They may support one shared request while retaining different practices and other positions. A cross-community response through CB.15 needs each side’s actual mandate at the scope attributed to it.

Independent carriers of a practice can use a published argument or contribute an attributed response without joining a common organisation. Their use or silence supplies no authority for a spokesperson to claim that they endorse the collective position.
