CB.3:4.3 - Remove the barrier that does not serve the work

Trace an entry demand to the action it protects. A technical intervention may require demonstrated competence and permission. A private case discussion may require an agreed disclosure boundary. A requirement to publish a long biography before reading an ordinary reference may add no useful protection.

Remove or reduce unnecessary effort. Put the first action near the invitation, explain unfamiliar terms with an example, avoid asking for the same information repeatedly, and let people obtain the relevant material in a usable form. Preserve requirements whose removal would make the contribution unfit or impermissible. If the organiser does not control a needed access condition, obtain a decision from its owner or return the limitation.

Test the resulting path from the participant’s conditions. Can they find the material, understand the first request and reach the promised help? Include the language, device, schedule, physical access or confidentiality condition that caused the difficulty. An administrator’s successful demonstration is insufficient when the participant faces a different condition.

Keep a meaningful refusal available. Explain any consequence of declining a specific responsibility. In an employment or service arrangement, distinguish an existing obligation from optional community participation and obtain the relevant agreement; calling a required act voluntary does not change its terms.
