CB.8:5.5 - Offer return while retaining a justified restriction’s reason

In another constructed repairer group, a member repeatedly inserts advertisements into requests for technical help. A moderator explains the rule and shows the separate offer space. The member repeats the advertising, displacing the requested comparisons, and posting is suspended under the group’s stated rule. The decision gives its reason and an email contact for review.

The member later asks to return. An authorised alternate confirms the original basis and offers a supported return within the existing moderation mandate. The member wants to answer questions about work they also sell. Together they examine a proposed answer: it needs to address the question, disclose that interest and keep unrelated offers in the offer space. A willing moderator can check the next two technical answers within an agreed response time. They agree to resume ordinary posting once the member has prepared those two answers to meet the stated expectations.

The administrator enables submission for approval. In the first answer, the member explains which repair their service cannot perform and supplies a relevant alternative; the moderator approves it. For the second answer, the member removes an unrelated discount before submission; the moderator approves the technical comparison. The questions receive usable answers. After these two exchanges, the moderator confirms the agreed condition and the administrator restores ordinary posting. The earlier advertising and its justified restriction remain in the proportionate account of the case.

This result shows that the offered arrangement worked for those exchanges. Further unrelated advertising would reopen the response from the new conduct and its effect. If the promised moderation support becomes unavailable, the reviewer and member need another workable arrangement before relying on it.
