Participants receive a more credible offer, contributors can see and question their obligations, and supporters can understand what their provision enables. A small activity can continue with mutual support; a service that requires dependable production can receive a different arrangement.
Making hidden work visible can reduce the apparent scale of the programme or increase its stated cost. Obtaining agreement and testing a shortfall also take effort. The gain is a choice made while alternatives remain available, rather than an unexplained cancellation or an exhausted organiser.
