DOCA.7:2 - Problem
An apparently helpful development conversation can serve the wrong recipient. An employer pays for career advice and expects the employee’s private assessments. A sponsor’s preferred provider becomes the presumed recommendation. A fluent AI-assisted memo conceals an unqualified assessment or unauthorized use of client information.
Another failure makes entry unnecessarily expensive. A formed question is sent through an exhaustive diagnosis, participant-mapping exercise, or workshop before anyone asks what advice is actually needed. The recipient receives either premature prescription or a process that never reaches a useful return.
The adviser needs a bounded relationship in which service competence, participation, confidentiality, conflicts, referral, and choice remain explicit enough to govern the next useful action.
