Engineering.Reference:0.4 - Capability development and wider performing practices
Human Capability Engineering (Human Capability Engineering DPF Suite) is the specialized engineering discipline concerned with the deliberate formation, change, restoration and maintenance of a person’s capabilities. Its first, incomplete Suite edition supplies the full HCD and SOM descriptions. The four direct DPFs of this Engineering edition connect to that specialized Suite; this publication arrangement leaves the human field’s engineering contribution intact.
Human Capability Development (HCD) describes deliberate change of a human holder’s capability for intended later Work. Its knowledge of learning, practice, feedback and transfer constrains capability targets, programmes, learning products and development arrangements. Evidence of what the person can actually do can revise the target or arrangement and can change which human contribution a system design may rely on. This continuing connection of knowledge, construction and use supplies its engineering contribution. A course, a capability model and a person’s realized capability remain different results; adequate existing capability, changed support or an external contribution can remove the need for development.
Somatic Movement Modeling (SOM) specializes that human-capability contribution. Its subject is bodily modeling and learning within an already known movement practice. The teacher or practice supplies the technique and criteria; SOM connects bodily experience, regulated changes and observed action. Its contrasts, effort regulation, combined changes and adaptation to contact, support or load can change what the learner can enact. Feedback from that action can revise the learner’s model and the teaching arrangement. The result is not a complete theory of movement or an account of every use of a human body.
HCD therefore does not include all human learning, and SOM does not include all embodied practices. Their engineering contribution follows from their constructive subjects and these connections, not from the physical bearer of a capability or a label in a DPF title. A particular engineering project can use sufficient capability evidence without performing development, just as a development task can finish with a sufficient design before a person has acquired the capability. The fields continue when particular learning theories or techniques change, provided knowledge, deliberate construction and evidence of the intended capability remain connected.
The human holder whose capability is to change, the person or AI supplying instruction, and the undertaking that will use the result occupy different positions. Changing the teaching provider can leave the human subject unchanged; developing a robot instead requires the applicable robot Methods. Pedagogy, andragogy and coaching can supply particular human-development contributions. Managing a team can instead change its collective Work, authority or resources. Those professional names do not establish identical Methods or separate disciplines; use the actual subject, intended change and knowledge needed for it.
Music-and-Dance Practice Engineering (MDPE) explains a wider practice: creating and performing material, learning, recognition, transmission, memory and cultural continuation. The engineering contributions inside that practice remain available. Configure and Coordinate a Music-or-Dance Performing Whole (MDPE.3) connects Systems Engineering results to performance-specific relations, simultaneous structures, timing, cues, material and correction. It constructs the smallest needed performing configuration and tests the uncertain coordination conditions. A score, stage plan or collection of individually capable performers does not establish the configured whole.
Test a Support-Environment Change for a Music-or-Dance Practice (MDPE.22) recovers a surrounding relation that blocks an intended practice result, compares bounded changes, realizes the selected change through the relevant engineering or management Method and observes what happens in the practice. Environment-change Work, an obtaining support relation, a later practice observation and an attributed causal effect remain distinct. A failed or worsened trial can support a complete keep, revise or stop decision. This contribution does not make the entire practice a support system or reduce cultural continuation to system realization.
Embodied Rhythmics (RHY) has rhythmic relations as its subject: attacks and rests, continuous movement, accents, timing, grouping, a common reference and coordination. Its Methods support recognizing, representing, altering, performing, teaching and observing those relations. Some uses develop a person’s capability, and some constrain a performing configuration; the full field is not limited to either contribution. Its overlap with bodily learning therefore does not make it a specialization of SOM.
MDPE and RHY retain complete independent descriptions in the Library. Engineering can use the specific constructions and constraints just described while their other results keep their own conditions. The direct returns preserve these engineering contributions without making construction the complete subject of either field. A future change in the described fields or their continuing relations could change this composition; a new performance project or a different physical performer alone does not.
