GOALS.1:4.1 - Recover the desired condition and its grounds

Ask who needs what result, in which situation and by what useful horizon. Examine a representative case. Separate the condition valued by the recipient from a proposed means: a customer needs a usable repaired device; a new scheduling tool is one possible way to improve the repair service. State conditions that must remain protected, such as safe operation, eligibility, workload limits or an existing promise. Use the conditions that actually govern this work.

Explain why this aim matters now. A known unmet need, a selected strategy, an established obligation, a useful opportunity or an explicit personal purpose can supply that ground. When participants disagree, expose the differing result or value and obtain the decision through the governing practice. A clearer sentence can make the disagreement discussable; it cannot decide whose preference governs.

Choose the goal’s scope from the receiving result. An individual contribution can be framed separately when it has a usable recipient and completion basis. When success depends on several jointly necessary contributions, identify the whole result and the relevant relations. Decompose far enough to obtain or assign those contributions without assuming that every organizational level needs a miniature copy of the same number.
