Realistic delay and feasible observationUse the interval that matters for work while accounting for time, assessor and access costs.
Retention and continued developmentDescribe intervening practice and instruction instead of treating every elapsed week as non-use.
Equipped work and independent contributionPreserve required means while testing a separately justified reduced-support target.
Differential evidence and probe reactivityA reference return can distinguish rivals, but the probe can itself teach, prime or fatigue the person.
Useful local claims and causal restraintReturn what the comparison supports without inventing a memory mechanism or programme effect.
