HCD.21:4.1 - Derive the composition from the contribution
Recover the actual task: what each participant must do, what another person supplies and what must be available together. Use HCD.20’s action and capacity comparison for size. A four-person limit derived from sequential explanations does not govern a task with simultaneous observation around equipment.
Name only the differences that can change this task. For model comparison, participants might bring different initial accounts of the same observations. For cross-project transfer, they might bring unlike projects with a comparable dependency. Shared language for the dependency can matter more than similar job titles. Check common preparation through a small relevant response when existing evidence is insufficient; a global ranking of people supplies less useful information.
Separate conditions that must hold from preferences that can be traded. A permitted source and a usable communication channel are necessary for the proposed exchange. A particular balance of project experience may be desirable. A high score on experience cannot compensate for forbidden access. Retain unknown preparation as unknown and obtain only information that could alter placement or support.
