HCD.6.1:4.2.1 - Make a Relation in the Next Explanation Noticeable

When the encounter prepares a later explanation, choose the contrast from the relation that explanation will introduce. The learner needs something they can inspect with their existing actions and then reconnect to the explanation. HCD.6:4.2.2 develops that complete lesson and a worked-solution alternative.

In HCD.6:5.7, keeping two batch times fixed while changing their request counts exposes what a simple average ignores. Scaling both counts together tests a different relation. Asking for one calculation across the cases makes those differences consequential. The learner’s attempt shows which relation the subsequent explanation needs to make explicit. If the relation is already accessible, omit that contrast and address the remaining difficulty.

Return the attempt to HCD.6’s explanation and fresh application. A learner may notice the difference without yet knowing how to calculate with it; another may calculate correctly after help without having noticed it independently. Preserve that distinction when choosing the next action.
